Meet Our Pastor
Blaine started attending New Horizon during his senior year of High School. He started coming on Wednesdays to the youth group which lead him to become faithful on Sundays as well.
He first started teaching children’s Sunday School. Then moved to teach the adult Sunday School. After He married His wife Hong, he became the youth pastor at New Horizon.
In 2015 the church was searching for a pastor, Blaine was the interim pastor at the time but eventually became the permanent pastor.
Pastor Hines has continued to lead the youth as well as the rest of the church.

What To Expect
During our Vietnamese service, we have our English Sunday School classes downstairs.
Evening service is a short message followed by prayer requests taken and then we break up into small groups and pray together.
Wednesday night is youth only. We play games, usually have a snack or refreshment and then have a lesson from the bible.
Get To Know Us
At the start, all services were held in Vietnamese; reaching out to some of the 20,000 Vietnamese who lived in the metro area.
In 2004, the church leased a building and expanded its ministry to include a youth group program and English services.
In 2010, God blessed us with the opportunity and provision to buy a building!
In 2015, the founding missionary continued on, and the church called Blaine Hines to be the pastor. After nearly 20 years, New Horizon continues to preach God’s Word in the ethnically diverse Northeast area of Kansas City.
To God be the glory! As we look to the future, we hope you will be a part of the next chapter in our story.

What We Believe
The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, written by men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, and that it is the sole authority for the Christian’s faith and conduct.
Exodus 4:10-15; Deuteronomy 4:2; Jeremiah 1:7-9; 1st Chronicles 28:19, Acts 1:16, 28:25; 1st Corinthians 2:13, 14:37; 1st Thessalonians 2:13; 2nd Timothy 3:15-17; 2nd Peter 1:16-21,3:1-2, 15-16
We believe the Bible consists of 66 books. 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.
We do not believe the Apocrypha is a part of the Word of God. Every word is exactly the word that God intended. By God’s decree, no new revelation is being given today and God will not so move in the hearts of men again. 1st Corinthians 13:8-13; Revelation 22:18-19
